During Music lessons, at Hope Community School, we provide children with an opportunity to express themselves creatively. We endeavour to provide a curriculum which engages, and inspires all pupils to develop a love of music and to build their self-esteem and sense of achievement. Pupils will have the opportunity to listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods. Pupils will learn to sing and compose, using tuned and untuned instruments, on their own or in a group. Pupils music lessons will be taught thought the musical dimensions of: pitch, duration, dynamic, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and appropriate musical notations.
