You are invited to attend the public consultation to review and comment on the proposals for new school
buildings for Hope Community School. The public consultation will take place at Central Hall, St Mary’s Street,
SO14 1NF, on 17th July from 3pm to 7pm.
Hope Community School Southampton, a part of the New Generations Schools Trust, is the first mainstream
free school in Southampton city centre. The school opened its doors in September 2017, with one Reception
class of 30 children. These numbers will increase year on year until a full capacity of 420 primary pupils from
Reception to Year 6 is reached in 2023, predominately serving Bargate Ward and its surrounding areas.
Currently located in temporary accommodation at Central Hall, the school is looking to move permanently into a
new, purpose built 4-storey building with rooftop play space located on Chapel Road in Southampton.
The purpose of this event is to provide you an opportunity to review the proposals and comment on the scheme
prior to the Planning Application being submitted, should you wish to do so.
